Asphodeline Fistulosus 2 litre pot

Also called the Hollow-Stemmed Asphodel. Again it is unusual with a dense, basal rosette of hollow “onion like” foliage. Beautiful slender spears of spaced star shaped white pink veined flowers in summer – they just can’t stop flowering, they grow to 2 feet into a good clump. This is a wild-flower of the Mediterranean and is hardy here. The flowers are actually diurnal – closing at night and in overcast or low-light weather conditions. Fistulosus has grown much faster than the larger Lutea and has continuously flowered in its first year.

A brand new variety for us to grow. As yet I have not seen Asphodels grown at all in the UK, so unusual and quite rare. Once again, a very natural plant, with food for pollinators.
