A statuesque late-spring flowering bulb with spires of creamy-white flowers which last for ages.
Camassia leichtlinii caerulea is a feature plant for the border in mid-May where they make magnificent shows with many erect stems of white flowers, curving skyward from thick clumps when established. They set no seed, only increasing as the bulbs split up. Longer lasting flowers result from planting in some shade and they love heavier soils that hold the moisture in the spring. A brilliant plant which relishes heavy clay soils.
Camassia are a very long lived bulb which appears to endure anything. The flower spike provides nectar for all pollinators and is a showy highlight to your garden border, flowering at 4 feet during June/July.
