Echinacea Paradoxa – Prairie Cone FLower – 2 litre pot

Loved by bee’s and butterflies, these very long-lived daisy flowers have large raised central cones. My interest in these lovely plants began in the 90’s, seeing them wild in a prairie setting, living with wild abandon!  I then set about growing from seed.

This beauty produces yellow spidery inverted petal flowers in June & July up to 4 feet high.

The pollinators adore them and I noticed that the small seed eating birds take the seed as well, so leave the heads on them even when they have finished!

We have reliably grown 4 varieties for many years now. Over the years, we have looked and tried some of the hybrids but find that they are not hardy, and mostly sterile so no free seeds for you or the birds…..
