Lysimachia ciliata, is the fringed loosestrife, and is a wildflower from north America.
It is an erect herbaceous perennial that will thrive in a moist herbaceous border or bog garden, where it will quickly form a colony. It will happily grow in full sun or partial shade.
Growing to 120 cm (47 in) tall and 60 cm (24 in) broad, with opposite, simple bright red/coppery brown leaves, and smooth green stems. The star-shaped yellow flowers are borne in midsummer.
Its hardy perennial plant and a real cracker as the name suggests! Giving height and drama where you may be struggling to grow a herbaceous border this is a real “toughie”.
