This yellow loosestrife is a happy plant in miserable conditions, it loves the shade and the damp, or even a bog. Ours is in the Cow Shed garden and it grows in under a foot of soil with its feet on concrete foundations!
A European native, its named after the Macedonian King of Thrace or Lysimachus!
It has bright green leaves and lovely happy yellow star shaped flowers.
Its a vigorous grower to cover some nasty area in your garden and its a cheerful wall of colour.
Hardy, leave until the Spring to cut back once new growth emerges so the insects have somewhere to hide.
