Phlomis Tuberosa – Jerusalem Sage – 2 litre pot

Phlomis Tuberosa in its simple form is completely beautiful and will suit any herbaceous border, Enchanted Gardens only grows the original version of this stunning plant – don’t confuse this with the Hybrid which is mass produced and does not produce seed capable of germination – Our Does with brilliant regularity!   A lovely addition; with sage like leaves and whorls of Lavender coloured tubular, hooded flowers over a very long period in the summer. Tuberosa has purplish stems and deeply veined serrated dark green leaves. They seem to cope with moisture but are more suited to a sunny position, and they don’t like the shade.

Often grown just for the ornamental value of the seed heads for flower arranging and vase work, we collect our own seed and leave them to provide homes for overwintering ladybirds and small larvae of pollinators and pollinator helpers.
