Potentilla Tonguei 2 litre pot

This is a very low clump-forming plant, only growing 4 – 6 inches. Great for edging or massing as a groundcover.

In early summer trailing stems shoot out in all directions, bearing hundreds of unusual single Orange/Apricot buttercup flowers with a bright-red eye.

Evergreen in mild winter regions. Divide in the spring every three years to maintain vigour. Tolerant of hot, dry locations once established, it adds unusual colour to the summer border. They can also be propagated by “layering” easily even from being planted in the border which is another brilliant talent, being a member of the strawberry family.  At ground level I cant think of anything this colour.
