Solomon’s Seal – traditional type – 2 litre pot

Solomon’s seal is an old cottage garden plant and one of our favourites.  It loves to grow in natural woodland with shade and moisture, but does well in any garden even in semi-shade.  It is a rhizomatous perennial, and spreads fairly easily if planted in the right spot.

During the spring it rises up to 3 feet producing graceful, arching stems with precisely paired, oval leaves along their length. It flowers little white bells that have green lips and dangle all the way along the stem and last from late spring through to summer.

Mostly pollinated by any of our native solitary bees, it provides a valued food source.
